Craven Arts Council & Gallery is proud to host a reception for the Congressional Art Competition: An Artistic Discovery on Saturday, April 26th at 3 pm. Joined by Congressman Greg Murphy, this reception will feature the work of selected local high school students from both public and private schools in United States Congressional District 3. A week after the reception, featured artworks will be on display at the US District Court on 413 Middle St. New Bern, NC.
The Congressional Art Competition features the work of local high school students. Participating students were selected by their teachers to showcase their talents. Works will be judged by local ceramic artists Lisa Connell and select ranked artwork will receive awards. The student awarded First Place will have a chance to attend a reception in Washington D.C. where all artwork awarded First Place from across the country will be displayed. Additional awards include display in congressional offices & cash prizes.
The Craven Arts Council & Gallery is free and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.
